Ilit Azoulay

Biography

Ilit Azoulay’s work examines how narratives are constructed, perceived, and stabilized in the present. Her work resists singular perspectives, creating conditions in which multiple, often conflicting voices can coexist. Rather than offering clarity, her practice exposes how meaning is formed, and what is lost in the process of simplifying complexity.

She is known for her pioneering photographic technique of reassembling images from rigorously researched material. Her work brings together photomontage, sound, video, and architectural interventions to examine how visual information is culturally processed. In doing so, it reveals what often remains unseen, opening alternative perspectives within familiar fields of knowledge.
